一众知名音乐人包括David Bowie、Aerosmith的Steven Tyler和Joe Perry、Cyndi Lauper、Flaming Lips、Lady Antebellum、Dirty Projectors、John Legend和T.I.等将参与美国畅销卡通片海绵宝宝Spongebob Squarepants的音乐剧（暂名「Spongebob Squarepants the musical」）为其制作音乐。
音乐剧暂定于2016年7月中旬于美国芝加哥百老汇的Oriental Theatre（东方剧院）作预演。门票将于今年10月透过官方网站公开发售。
这也并不是David Bowie第一次和海绵宝宝拉上关系，Bowie曾于2007年为海绵宝宝大长篇《SpongeBob’s Atlantis SquarePantis》的角色Lord Royal Highness作配音。
