The Tokyo Instrumental trio ‘mouse on the keys’, branching from the legendary Post-rock band Nine Days Wonder, is formed by Akira Kawasaki (Drum), Atsushi Kiyota (Piano, Keyboard) and Daisuke Niitome (Piano, Keyboard).
Differing from the common post-rock formula, they create unique and exquisite sounds with 2 pianos and 1 drum as the core instruments and occasional use of brass instruments. From the first EP “Sezession”, their debut full-length album “An Anxious Object”, to the second EP “Machinic Phylum”, various elements were employed to produce refreshing sounds.
Six years after the release of “An Anxious Object”, ‘mouse on the keys’ finally released their second full-length album “the flowers of romance”. Other than following their original style, they also invited talented musicians as guest musicians, bringing the genres they rarely touched upon such as Hardcore, Experimental and Rock to this album.
After “Machinic Phylum” – Release Asia Tour Live in Hong Kong” in 2012 , “the flower of romance – Album Release Tour 2015 Live In Hong Kong”, mouse on the keys finally returns to Hong Kong after 3 years. 7 of them will come this time: all 3 members of the band, 1 trumpet and 1 saxophone musicians and 1 VJ, to present the audience with the fusion of Jazz, Post-rock, Avant-Garde, Experimental and Contemporary and 5 projectors. Combining visual and sounds, overall sound and sensuous appeal will be enriched and it is definitely a not-to-be-missed concert this Summer.

日本東京三人Instrumental樂隊Mouse On The Keys，由傳奇日本Post-Rock樂隊Nine Days Wonder分支出來，由三位成員Akira Kawasaki（鼓）、 Atsushi Kiyota （鋼琴、鍵琴）和Daisuke Niitome（鋼琴、鍵琴）所構成的陣容，有別於一般Post-Rock模式，以雙琴單鼓的結構，偶爾配上鋼管樂器伴奏，那別樹一格的聲音，從首張EP《Sezession》，到後來首張專集《An Anxious Object》，以至另一張EP《Machinic Phylum》，全是結合不同元素而成的新鮮聲音。
今年，Mouse On The Keys終於發表了繼《An Anxious Object》六年後的第二張專集《the flowers of romance》，今次他們除了保留原有風格外，還加入其他實力相當的客席樂手，為這碟注入Hardcore、Experimental、Rock等從前少有觸及的曲風。而繼2012年的《《Machinic Phylum》Release Asia Tour 2012 Live In Hong Kong》後，Mouse On The Keys事隔三年後重臨香港，《the flowers of romance》 Album Release Tour 2015 Live In Hong Kong》，這次他們一行七人，除了原有隊中三位成員外，還加上兩位負責銅管Trumpet和Saxophone樂手，以及一位VJ，展現Jazz、Post-Rock、Avant-Garde、Experimental、Contemporary等聲音的融合的同時，還加上五台Projector，聲畫合一下，令整體聲音更見豐富之餘，視覺更創造出無限變化。

Mouse on the Keys is a trio instrumental band. Based in Tokyo, the group consists of its former members, “Nine Days Wonder” (a leading band on the Japanese post-rock scene) Akira Kawasaki (drum, keyboards) and Atsushi Kiyota (piano, keyboards), along with Daisuke Niitome (piano, keyboards).
The unique sound of the band’s drums, two pianos, and two keyboards combines the sense of urgency from rock, hard core and heavy metal with tastes of early/contemporary classical, jazz and various dance music.
At their concerts, the band projects a variety of images chosen to match their sound ―views of Tokyo, geometric symbols, 3D objects, and abstractions. Residents of Tokyo, the members of Mouse on the Keys represent the haunting restlessness of their home city at their live appearances. They would transform even a venue in Germany or France into a kind of virtual Tokyo.
